Thanks for the attachments. Just to clarify, you are using your pavillion dv6000 built-in mic and Flash can't record from it, right?
Can Sound Recorder record sound? Or vlc? Have you tried with an external mic? Are you seeing any error messages? Are the volume settings set correctly (have a look in gnome-volume-properties)? Which version of Flash are you using?
