Public bug reported: OS: Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex running a stock compiz (v0.7.8) with the optional compizconfig-settings-manager package installed. All updates installed at time of writing. Video Driver: Nvidia 177. Hardware specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+, Asus A8N-E motherboard, Nvidia GeForce 7800GTX.
This bug only seems to occur with the rotate cube plugin enabled from the compizconfig-settings-manager. This bug results in a complete crash of compiz (desktop returns to metacity) when the mouse wheel is used to scroll with the cursor situated to the far left or right of screen. This only occurs with the rotate cube plugin enabled which leads me to believe the bug resides within that plugin. It can be noted that the following error appears after this crash appears (terminal output): Segmentation fault Window manager warning: Failed to read saved session file /home/simon/.config/metacity/sessions/1084c07634384d7be122750714661127900000065030004.ms: Failed to open file '/home/simon/.config/metacity/sessions/1084c07634384d7be122750714661127900000065030004.ms': No such file or directory Steps to reproduce: 1/ Run compiz from the intrepid repositories. 2/ Enable the rotate cube plugin. 3/ Situate cursor to far left/right of screen. 4/ Use mouse scroll wheel in either direction. I am unfamiliar with the locations of compiz log files so if you want them just ask giving their locations. ** Affects: compiz-fusion-plugins-main (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Compiz crashes when mouse scrolled when left or right of screen with rotate cube enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301615 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
