Just got the Logitech "Black Internet keyboard" (Y-ST39) from work. All
except one hotkeys were detected and bound to the right function.

Available functions: Search, Files, E-mail, WWW, Mure, Volume -, Volume
+

Files did not work.

Solution:

1. Open a terminal. Type:
tail -f /var/log/messages

2. Press the Files button
Watch the unknown code. In my case:
Nov 29 20:05:12 sydney kernel: [17181173.072000] atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e005
<keycode>' to make it known.

3. Add this on the second line of /etc/init.d/hotkey-setup (unde the shebang
#!/bin/bash):
set -xv

4. as root (or use sudo) execute in a terminal:
/etc/init.d/hotkey-setup start

And watch which keyboard file is executed by the script. In my case it
was /usr/share/hotkey-setup/hp.hk.

5. Open the keyboard file (in my case /usr/share/hotkey-setup/hp.hk) and add:
setkeycodes e005 144 #identify keypress, then set up in
gnome keyboard shortcuts

6. Setup up the keyboard shortcut in gnome preferences.
