Tested here to and things are still not right... DNS still not being set right.
Syslog attached shows initial connection attempts - an automatic one just after logging in that failed, another one that failed, then finally I connected manually and it worked. I notice that when I get the no DNS problem, there are no DNS entries at all under 'Connection Information' instead of the dreaded 10.11.12.13/14.
