Many thanks Bernhard. I am answering through Google´s Gmail in WindowsXP,SP2. I just unloaded SP2 at 526KB/s speed, so I have to discard the connection as the origin of the Firefox slownees jn Ubuntu. Next time I open Ubuntu, I shall install Opera as per your advice. Thanks, Leon
