1) Tested with Hardy and backported 1.2.25, worked like a charm. 2) Upgraded to Intrepid (iwlagn 1.3.27ks), works well enough. I had to rmmod/modprobe iwlagn a couple of times because the connection sometimes drops after prolonged use and cannot be re-established. After rmmod/modprobe everything works again. 3) Installed linux-backports-modules (although I'm not sure if there is any difference in iwlagn); will report on success.
