Tormod, I have this problem on a T60p,with version 1.2.2 of radeonhd. Backlight control just opens a small pop-up, showing a brightness value that changes, but does not actually change the intensity of the light. I'll check version 1.2.3 and come back with a report. Running kubuntu 8.04.1. /Mikael
