I had exactly the same problem on intrepid amd64 and installing libsnack2 worked for me also. The dapper, feisty, gutsy and hardy packages of transcriber all have a dependency on libsnack2. See http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper/sound/transcriber, http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/sound/transcriber, http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/transcriber and http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/transcriber.
