Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

It has happened to several users of pidgin, with various degrees of
experience and computer skills, that when a file transfer finishes, they
never know where did they saved the file. They have to remember which
download location did they select, then open a nautilus window, and look
for the file.

Maybe they don't have the "Clear finished transfers" checkbox selected,
and could find where is the file by unfolding the "File transfer
details" section in the "File Transfers" window.

All in all, it is a bit of a hassle and an interruption in the process.

It would be a nice improvement to show an inline message, directly in
the Contact window if there's a chat open, saying "Transfer of file X
has finished. Click here to open".

Or maybe instead of the "Click here to open" message, a shortcut which
opens Nautilus and highlights the file could be provided, if we don't
want people to start receiving files and opening them "too easily" (such
as happened with some MSN viruses). This is just an idea, I don't know
if that is possible with Nautilus.

I think this change, although looking like a minor improvement, would
greatly improve usability of Pidgin.

** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
