Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor
I get this patch from Novell, and merge it with current ubuntu edgy
versions.
The System Tab contains the distribution name, hardware, memory, and
disk free status.
I think it's great if this is implemented, since, displaying some simple
information to a user is a big help.
