Public bug reported: Linux GA-MA770-DS3-2 2.6.24-21-generic #1 SMP Tue Oct 21 23:43:45 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux 00:05.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C51G [GeForce 6100] (rev a2)
After a kernel update and reboot the Nvidia driver failed to load. The syslog indicated a driver - kernel module version mismatch. Fix was: apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-new-kernel-source-envy May be a duplicate of bug #261816 Note: The host name "GA-MA770-DS3"-2 refers to a motherboard model but is not what the system currently uses. In fact this particular motherboard was so unreliable even after replacement it will be a long time before I buy another Gigabyte product. ** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-envy-2.6.24 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Driver update failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298915 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
