Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg

I am trying to get hardware acceleration working in X

My xorg.conf file reads:

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Configured Video Device"
        Driver "intel"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
        Identifier "Configured Monitor"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Default Screen"
        Monitor "Configured Monitor"
        Device "Configured Video Device"
EndSection

When I load my machine, everything works, except that according to X logs, I do
not have access to direct rendering. Typing glx gears gives me:
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

Typing glxinfo gives me:
name of display: :0.0

I should get some form of hardware acceleration via the intel driver. My
video adapter is GMA 3100 on a P5K-VM motherboard.
