Hello,

I am having a similar problem where the CD is not recognized by the
Windows installer.

I follow the following steps:

$ sudo apt-get install kvm libvirt-bin ubuntu-vm-builder virt-manager
$ sudo adduser ubuntu kvm
# reboot
$ virt-manager
# double click on the localhost (User) to make status "Active"
# new (button)
# create a new VM using an XP CD

However, during installation, I get the attached message (see
screenshot). I'm running Ubuntu 8.10.
