*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 157408 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157408
I can not surely say if the bug is a duplicate of bug #157408. In my opinion it is not. Bug #157408 references the gutsy release of Ubuntu. I used the "Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy" release with the same computer configuration and had no problems. I had no problems with the "Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy" release too. The bug appeared with the interpid (Ubuntu 8.10) release. Another difference compared to bug #157408 is that I don't lose signal and my monitor does not complain that signal is out of range and I can see what the frequencies of the signal are. My monitor is just showing black screen. In the previous post I wrote "blank screen" instead of "black screen" - I apologise for the mistake. It's my fault. Surely I can say that Ubuntu starts. I can even hear the "welcome" sound at start up (Automatic log-on is enabled). What does not start normally is my X - it just show me black screen. I can with no problem switch between terminals 1 to 6 with the key combination Ctrl+Alt+F(1-6). The Ctrl+Alt+F7 combination returns me to the "black" screen. -- Xserver does not work with DVI monitor and video card "Radeon 9200 PRO (RV280)" in Ubuntu 8.10 - Displays blank screen at X startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297328 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
