I'm suffering this problem, but installing the "linux-backports-modules- intrepid-generic" package I get *some* better performance using OpenGL, for example, with the "expo" effect. But I still think that general video performance is poor, and moreover, I'm still getting the same GLX- rendering errors (Google Earth, and other 3D apps).
