Some additional info: it is a clean install of kubuntu 8.10 with new user. Lately I copied some configs and apps data from my old user.
There is the issue with qtcurve too, kde4-style-qtcurve-kdeconfig, kde4-style-qtcurve, kde-style-qtcurve, gtk2-engines-qtcurve are installed, qtcurve is chosen. KDE4 and gtk apps looks similarly - same colour scheme and qtcurve-config.
