I realize now that you probably won't have permissions to read the sudoers 
file, only admins are. But you should be able to read the auth log. It should 
not be empty, so give it one more try. That file will likely tell us exactly 
what the problem is. 
There are guides all over the net that explains how to reset your password, 
perhaps they can give back your administrative rights too, so try that first. 
Google is your friend here. 

So, if you're still having problems after that, please attach you 
/var/log/auth.log and the following commands:
* uname -a
* cat /etc/lsb-release
