Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

Hi,
Xserver does not work with DVI monitor and video card "Radeon 9200 PRO (RV280)"
in Ubuntu 8.10 interpid.
My video card has a DVI and VGA ports. When I use my DVI monitor (19" LCD
XEROX) with the VGA port (using DVI-to-VGA connector) Ubuntu 8.10 works pretty
well. When I connect the DVI monitor directly to the DVI port it always
displays blank screen at X startup. I had no problems with hardy (ubuntu 8.04).
My video card is: ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 PRO]
My monitor: 19" LCD Xerox XA7-19i
I've searched about this problem and found a solution at
"https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Radeon_9200/9250_(RV280)_and_DVI".
Unfortunately the HOWTO was written for Edgy and Feisty. I could not find a way
to apply the same solution for interpid. I am not even sure if the problem is
the same!
According to
"https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Radeon_9200/9250_(RV280)_and_DVI" the
problem is with the package "xserver-xorg-video-ati". The version of the
package I am using is: 1:6.9.0+git20081003.f9826a56-0ubuntu2 0.
I followed the instructions on "http://www.ubuntu.com/community/reportproblem";
and so I am attaching the following files:
 - /etc/X11/xorg.conf
 - /var/log/Xorg.0.log
 - console output of the command "lspci -vv"

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu)
