Public bug reported: Linux bernhard-desktop 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Tue Nov 4 19:33:06 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10
I bought a dvbscard (Terratec 1200 DVB-S, with 2 connectors), which I thought was supported rather well. Used chip (lspci |grep media): 03:06.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146 (rev 01) /dev/dvb/adapter0/* exists, but there is no /dev/video0 nor /dev/vdi0 (though I don't know the last one is required) dmesg told me the following: [ 13.553366] saa7146: register extension 'budget_av'. [ 13.626024] budget_av 0000:03:06.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 21 (level, low) -> IRQ 21 [ 13.626072] saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem ffffc20000662c00 (revision 1, irq 21) (0x153b,0x1155).
