Hi all, I have the same problem with a HP Palvilion dv6915nr and Ubuntu 8.10 updated from 8.04 (I had no time on the 8.04 making the built in microphone working, but by default it did not work even on Ubuntu 8.04).
My audio card is: nVidia Corporation MCP67 High Definition Audio (rev a1) I have a built-in microphone and it does not work. I switched from PulseAudio to ALSA in order to make the mic working but it doesn't work. Sound playback works.
