Following DOUBLE_CONSOLE_SWITCH in resume, I added following lines in "lid.sh"
chvt 12; chvt 7; after the line, containing su $user -c "xset dpms force on" It seems to have solved the problem in my z60t thinkpad running Kubuntu edgy.
