Thanks for the effort so far, a read-only Google Calendar (via remote ICS) seems to work fine now. Unfortunately a Novell Groupwise Calendar (via Soap) and/or an eGroupware Calendar (via remote ICS) still both crash with the "usual" symptoms (regardless whether flagged as read-only or not).
