I'm under Kubuntu 8.10, upgraded from 8.04 (spanish). I recently
installed a SATA DVD and I'm having a similar problem. Something I noted
while looking through this is that my paralell ata HD is not hda, but
sda, but that doesn't affect the way it works. I think that's why the
dvd gets reported as scsi instead of sata.

I'm on a Asus A7N8X deluxe revision 2.0, Nforce 2 chipset.
