Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity
The attached screenshot speaks for itself. I used the Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit LiveCD (on a USB flash drive instead of a CD actually) and started the installation. When I arrived at the part where I had to partition my hard disk drive, I noticed some errors in the behavior of the graph which displays disk usage after the installation. As you can see I already had arranged that half of the hard disk drive contains unpartitioned free space before I started the LiveCD. The default option presented to me by the installer was the first, resize sda1 and use the free space. The "after" bar represented this proposal correctly. Same with the second option to use the entire disk. However, when I chose the third option, to use the largest continuous free space, the "after" bar depicted that 100% of the hard disk drive would be used for Ubuntu, which would obviously be wrong. It also displayed 100% usage for the manual option, how could the installer possibly know how much disk space I would give Ubuntu when I haven't defined any partitions for Ubuntu yet? ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ubiquity partitioner disk usage graph is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295870 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
