I think this problem might be caused by the existing grub multiboot partition being back-level compared to the expectations of the intrepid installer, but I don't know enough to investigate further.
I noticed that when I merged the intrepid grub menu.lst boot lines back into my existing hardy-based grub boot partition, then intrepid would not boot. The grub boot error was because intrepid uses the "new" UUID grub statement, but the hardy grub does not recognise it and so cant boot the intrepid image. I simply reverted the intrepid statements to the "old" syntax and intrepid multi-boots fine. -- ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_bootloader() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260001 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
