thanks for your response. this problem is not reproducable with a fresh user account. but thie wrong keybindings are also present when i start gedit as root (sudo gedit). by the way, my installation of intrepid is a upgrade from hardy. even when i enable 'Editable menu shortcut keys' in Menu > System > Preferences > Appearance > Interface and change the keybindings of both "Save" and "Go to line" any key combination i define for "Save" will trigger "Go to line"
