Hi Bryce Harrington: I gave up on 8.04 32 bit Ubuntu Completely! There were for me just too many bugs. Ebay Companion had a bug, with Firefox, thinking it was 64 Bit. The Nvidia Driver did not work, in accelerated modes. Synaptic would not recognize DVD's with repositories on them. Synaptic stopped working all together, on an update. So I took it off my machine, and have been using 7.10 32 bit Ubuntu. Which worked very well, up until recently, when the most recent Kernel stopped working, and had all kinds of problems. So I'm using the Older Kernel and it works well.
I began using Ubuntu because Windblows didn't work very well, most versions of Ubuntu since 4.10, worked very well, some did not. So I just skipped them. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from cdimage.ubuntu.com) If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log? Thanks in advance. The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Nvidia AGP card 5500, and Ubuntu 8.04 32 bit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/244071 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
