Hmm... actually Jon did not provide any details in his original report
except for the error message and doesn't seem to have responded at all
since then, so with such generic info we can't troubleshoot this at all.

I'll recast the bug to "Error message causes confusion".

All of the lockup errors people have commented on in this bug MUST be
reported as separate bug reports.
