I can confirm this too.

I also noticed that if i open Cheese and press on the Effects button,
and then press it again Cheese will crash. A backtrace is attached.

I am unable to identify the hardware through either lspci, lshw or
lsusb. In syslog i can see the following:

I opened xsane (without a scanner plugged in). The led next to the cam
will flash, and xsane fails to start - it thinks my webcam is a
scanner...

I guess we can blame uvcvideo (the driver) for our problems.
