"cuts" refer to the selections on each CD--it is an old term from the days of needle-drop records. what I am trying to decribe here is that the program often does not recognize that there are, e.g., four selections, songs, whatever, within a CD file. So--suppose the CD was of a Beethoven Sonata. Even though there were four distinct sections that one could "que" on a CD player, the program sometimes does not recognize these divisions and treats the file as just one large file.
