I use DVI LCD projector. After a few minutes of video plaback (I use mplayer), screen goes to solid black (blue). I switched off compiz and used Xubuntu, but the same problem occured. I disabled glx in Xorg, used X11 output driver instead of Xv, but screen blanked again.
There was no difference between fullscreen or windowed mode. I disabled ndiswrapper, but screen blanked again. I made Xorg use the VESA driver (via xorg.conf) and system works fine.
