Public bug reported:

On my HP mini-note with the Broadcom BCM4312 chip and 8.10, the wireless always
dies if I try to transfer a lot of files. This is using the new Broadcom
hardware drivers that the distro told me to install. It occurs after about 30
MB of so. The wired connection works fine. I have tried both Samba and sftp, so
I think it is a wireless issue.
Even worse, if the connection dies, it is impossible to end the file transfer
window without a reboot!. And if it is a Samba transfer, it is impossible to
unmount the remote drive. I can get the wireless going again by trying to
connect to my neighbor's network, and then reconnecting to my own network, but
the file transfer is still stuck.
