I can't agree more. I was very happy to recommend ubuntu for laptops as stuff just worked. Now it seems that laptops are getting less and less support under ubuntu. Bluetooth needs to be supported out of the box, a universe package is not intuitive at all. The only way to find out what you are supposed to do to enable bluetooth file reception is to get on bugzilla. This would not work in my parent's case.
