** Summary changed:

- freeze on shotdown-restart
+ freeze on shotdown-restart with ubuntu Intrepid

** Description changed:

When I click on reboot system, instead having the shotdown blue bar of
Kubuntu, I have a black screen and the computer does not reboot :(
I assume that is something about monitor because it happens when I started to
try to change the refresh of the monitor.
The strange thing is that also with the default config this happens :(
+
+
+ I've got the same problem as caterpillar: after updating from ubuntu 8.04 to
8.10, when i try to reboot or shutdown, the system freezes, showing the
progress bar about on 50%
+ I've noticed this problem only when my notebook is connected to the net using
a ethernet cable; when is connected in wireless mode there isn't any problem.
+ so I think that the problem is related to the ethernet controller, that in my
case is:
+ Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet
controller (rev 01)
