After much trial and error, I have my 4311 working with ndiswrapper, no problems. (I don't have any nvidia, but thought I'd still post a bit here.)
I am running the 2.6.17-10-generic x86_64 kernel, ndiswrapper version 1.27 (downloaded from Sourceforge, and newer than the version in Edgy's repositories), and a driver downloaded from HP. My Dell 1390 wireless card now works on my E1405 laptop. A meandering HOWTO is here: http://wiki.waningsun.net/index.php?title=Dell_E1405_%26_Linux_HOWTO#ndiswrapper.2C_fixed.21 Jamie: You should be able to load and unload modules without re- installing your system, so don't worry about re-installing every time you change something! -- BCM1390M (broadcom 4311) with ndiswrapper and nvidia IRQ conflicts https://launchpad.net/bugs/57355 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
