Hi thanks for reporting your bug. I am unsure as to why you are unable
to connect to the wireless network. Your scrambled password issue is a
known bug see bug#239970 The correct passphrase is still getting sent to
the wireless network. If you entered you password correctly originally
this will not prevent you from connecting.

I was having trouble connecting to a wpa network when I switched to 8.10
and discovered it was because network manager misselected on of the
settings (i needed PEAP instead of TLS or something similar. Try the
other combinations or if you know how the network is set up make sure
network-manager is selecting the appropriately.
