** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager The version of Ubuntu I'm using is 8.10 Intrepid. The package (that has the bug) that I'm using is 2.24.0-0ubuntu8. My laptop is HP Compaq Presario V5000. The package that I found the bug is gnome-power-manager. The icon is part of Notification Area 2.24.1 of the panel. I expected that when I pull the charger, the icon will change status in a second. What happened instead is that it takes 10 or more seconds to change the status of my computer that it is running on AC power or a battery. When take the charger out, it will not change status until 10 or more seconds. When I plug it back to the laptop, it does the same thing. When I click "shut down" or "restart", it show a message that gnome-power- - manager is running (not responding). + manager is running (not responding). This bug may be in Ubuntu Intrepid + because I tested with the LiveCD and the same problem happens.
