Hello I have a hp 6820s with the "Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)".
When I updated from Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 sound works, but some days later it crashed. I try anything (change volume, use pulseaudio, use oss, etc...) but I fix it installing kmix (yes, in gnome) and it shows volume muted.
