While the patch is applied on ubuntu packages, I can advice a simple workaround found on aMSN forums: sudo rm /usr/share/amsn/utils/linux/linflash/flash.so with this windows won't blink, but their title will change in "new message" and will return normal contiuously! You MUST see it! :)
