By the way, while the vesa driver produce correct colours, it's not a fully satisfactory workaround, as X ends up using a resolution of 800x600 which looks really horrible. The native resolution of the display is 1280x800, which the sis driver is using correctly.
So with Intrepid I need to choose between a broken resolution or broken colours. Both options anger my girlfriend -- the owner of the laptop in question -- so this bug is (for me) absolutely critical..!
