Please re-read the text of the error report. This was NOT a boot from a live CD. It was booted from a USB Memory stick that was itself created from a Live CD boot.
I think that I know you can't update a CD-ROM. However, the error that you can't update a USB Memory stick must be considered to be important and critical.
