I agree with more warnings. I am wondering about the distinction between packages no longer in the repositories and packages installed directly (from the .deb): can't we just search the repos of previous releases and see if the package has ever existed in them? If it has, then it's meant to be removed. Otherwise, it was installed by hand and it should probably stay (however, I would still put it in the list, with the tick turned off, so users see it and can make a choice)
