I had install again the 8.04.1 version. After clean install there was sound in speakers, there was sound in headphones. Since I upraded the linux-kernel packages (2.6.27-7) the sound in speakers is gone. The sound in headphones is very loud but little crappy, with a lot of noise. Now I'm doing the rest of upgrade to check is anything will change.
I tried also the clean install of 8.10 (the stable version). After the first reboot the X would not like to start. There's a message that it could start alsa and not only the sound is not working but whole X server is not working in 8.10 clean install on my notebook. Also tried Debian Lenny with the 2.6.26 kernel. No sound from speakers too.
