if you look at the syslog you see the wpasupplicant config values used.
an example below.

If you are one of the lucky ones that can connect manually please try
the config values from your NM connect attempt from syslog and see if
you can use those in wpasupplicant.conf.

If that doesnt work, compare with the manual config that works and play
around until you find what is wrong in the config.
