Hello,
Is this really the place for bugs to go?  I haven't seen anyone from Ubuntu 
give any comment and this bug went right on through to the final release.
This is a critical bug for me.  I cannot install Ubuntu with this bug.  I have 
to have it on a different partition from the other linux system.  I also want 
my grub to be on that other drive, not the main drive.  I haven't seen any 
solution or work around at all other than wipe out my main linux distro which I 
cannot do.
I hate saying "this other distro does it", but RedHat and Fedora have been able 
to do this for years.
