When I did a fresh install with Ubuntu Edgy for 64-bit machines, it didn't install the linux-restricted-modules package, so once I installed the linux-restricted-modules package, my atheros card was up and running. I have documented it here: http://speeves.unt.edu/newindex/?p=187
