It's actually not the only reason, but certainly the most important one. Others are: - Crash report processing takes a lot of CPU and I/O resources and disk space, which is inconvenient. - By the time we release we should already have the really bad crashes reported, and we won't fix the uncritical/seldom ones in stables (SRU policy). Besides, during the development cycle we get way more crash reports than we could ever triage/fix anyway.
