Ted, I enabled the password on the screensaver settings window and set the screensaver to come on after a minute, but it's not coming on when I let the computer sit. Maybe this is an issue w/ the screensaver (service). Is there a process that's supposed to be running that the screensaver and the fast-user-switch-applet depends on?
I thought I might find something like "xlock": [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/init.d$ ps -ef | grep lock root 40 2 0 14:28 ? 00:00:00 [kblockd/0] root 41 2 0 14:28 ? 00:00:00 [kblockd/1] drnorris 5883 5797 0 14:45 pts/0 00:00:00 grep lock [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/init.d$ Here are the /var/log/auth.log contents around the time of a user switch after I enabled the screensaver password and rebooted: Oct 28 14:29:28 TDC gdm[5136]: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_gnome_keyring.so) Oct 28 14:29:28 TDC gdm[5136]: PAM [error: /lib/security/pam_gnome_keyring.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory] Oct 28 14:29:28 TDC gdm[5136]: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_gnome_keyring.so Oct 28 14:29:35 TDC gdm[5136]: pam_unix(gdm:session): session opened for user drnorris by (uid=0) Oct 28 14:34:16 TDC polkit-grant-helper[5786]: granted authorization for org.freedesktop.systemtoolsbackends.set to pid 5768 [uid=1000] [auth=drnorris] Oct 28 14:48:11 TDC gdm[5886]: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_gnome_keyring.so) Oct 28 14:48:11 TDC gdm[5886]: PAM [error: /lib/security/pam_gnome_keyring.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory] Oct 28 14:48:11 TDC gdm[5886]: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_gnome_keyring.so Oct 28 14:48:15 TDC gdm[5886]: pam_unix(gdm:session): session opened for user other by (uid=0) Oct 28 14:48:51 TDC gdm[5886]: pam_unix(gdm:session): session closed for user other I am seeing this problem on both of my systems. The first one was listed in my original bug report. The second, which I'm using now is an EEE 1000H. Both systems run XUbuntu 8.04.1 -- log out switches to other account without password https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279938 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
