Public bug reported: I don't get any sound for applications using PulseAudio or ALSA (Ubuntu startup, Firefox and Wine tested) except for a hissing/crackling. Setting the sound driver to OSS (either via the System menu or winecfg) I can hear the music/sound fine.
Using alsamixer, I get the PulseAudio sound level which is on and loud enough to be able to hear anything. $ cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDA Intel at 0xf8400000 irq 22 alsa-info.sh output: http://www.alsa- project.org/db/?f=e18b2e644634f1e76b09f6139bc3e7f1856d4cf0 ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- audio hiss/crackle sound only using pulseaudio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290480 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
