It seems there are 2 different utilities here; Adept Installer and Adept Manager. The Adept Installer only lists a restricted range of packages, but it is Adept Installer that is in the Kmenu. I couldn't find Adept Manager from the Kmenu, but it can be accessed if you search (using the Kmenu search field).
